ULTRA

For this edition of GIBCA Extended Studio 69 invites you to the exhibition ULTRA - an exhibition created with and for trans- and non-binary artists.

Trans and non-binary spaces are rarely public—sometimes due to safety concerns where participants might face harm, and other times because such spaces simply don't exist or aren’t made available. With this exhibition we want to seize the opportunity to support and create space for one another and simply be together as a whole.

Ultra means beyond, more than, or on the other side of, but it can also imply something extreme, radical or uncontained.

In this exhibition we want to create space for art that doesn’t quite fit or is considered outside the norm. Here, ultra can stand on the side of something —or simply exist on its own.
